 Today we are going to continue to read Don't Know Much About History and look at the Constitution. Note please look over the study guides for both The Revolutionary War (you should have made one and turned it in - if you didn't you should do it now), and the questions below.  Also, turn in your questions on chapter 9. 

Thursday: Test

Friday: We will be moving onto Washington and Adam as Presidents.

STUDY GUIDE FOR THE CONSTITUTION

The Declaration of Independence (what does it say or do). 


The Constitution:

What are the three branches of government and what are the powers of each?

How can these branches check and balance each other?

What were the compromises to the constitution?

Who wrote the Federalist papers?

What was the Bill of Rights? Why did some states demand its inclusion before they ratified the constitution?

 What were the anti-federalists main fears about the constitution?

Why did Shay's Rebellion happen?

The constitution is "a political creation, hammered together in a series of artfully negotiated compromises. Discuss these compromises.

What was the Virginia Plan? 

"No person held in service" was a euphemism for what?

List the basic Powers and Checks of the three branches of the government.

Who wrote the Federalist Papers and why did they write them?

Briefly outline the first ten amendments.
